“As the title suggests, “Someday”, the latest single from Simeonoff is a hopeful, reflective story of someone determined to live out the resolutions one makes to themselves on a late night after a long, unproductive or self-defeating day. With “Someday”, Simeonoff stakes his own unique ground in the old tried and true pastures of Americana “leaving” songs. Simeonoff’s new EP, Listen to This, is out now.”

‘CIA’ is irreverent, full of character and humour, and, most importantly, it’s a damn good tune."

“From his forthcoming EP, Listen to This, Richard Simeonoff has delivered the single, “Someday,” a song for people who “want to escape the lives we were born into.”

The track begins with an acoustic guitar that gently sets the stage for the entire recording. And by the time the rhythm section shows up just a few moments later, listeners will be instantly transported into the universe of the song. There is an excellent sense of nostalgia here– even before the lyrics begin– due, in part, to some thick notes from the bass and a snare drum that perfectly suits the arrangement. A lead guitar hammers out a melodic lick, ensuring that “Someday” becomes a staple in the soundtrack to your summer.

But where this song completely won us over resides within Simeonoff’s sweet voice, which has been carefully crafted by the gods of Americana to wonderfully fit this style. Listeners will marvel at the way he effortlessly glides through his storytelling, hanging onto his every word as though completely true, with nothing standing between his words and our ears. His vocal is rich, raw, and authentic, at times reminiscent of all of our favorite singers, from Jeff Tweedy to Ryan Adams and Gregory Alan Isakov.

If you’ve never heard the music of Richard Simeonoff, “Someday” is the perfect way to get yourself acquainted. And be sure to mark your calendars for July 21, when he releases the rest of Listen to This.”

“Richard Simeonoff – “Someday”
-From the first time I heard this track, I knew it was something that I wanted to support on EarToTheGround. Everything from the sonic construction to the lyrical concept feels familiar and relatable. The “punch my ticket out of here” concept is common for those of us who grew up in the Rust Belt. Even though I am a proud resident of the region now, there are a lot of my peers who lived the life shared in Simeonoff’s lyrics. The timeless Americana narrative form comes through really well here. Fans of Rayland Baxter and similar electric guitar-based storytelling tunes will dig this one a lot.”
